Oluwafemi Omotola, also known as Femi, is an accomplished Employee Relations Consultant with over 20 years of experience in human resources, currently working for the Government of Alberta. Throughout her distinguished career, Femi has developed a deep expertise in workplace safety, conflict resolution, and the prevention of harassment and violence in the workplace.
In her current role, Femi has been instrumental in implementing policies and initiatives that promote respectful and inclusive work environments. She is dedicated to educating organizations about the importance of proactive measures and creating supportive frameworks for employees, ensuring that everyone feels safe and valued at work. Femi holds 2 master’s degrees, one in Sociology, and the other in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. She also holds the coveted Certified Professional in Human Resources certification (CPHR), and the Senior Certified Professional certification from The Society of Human Resources Management SHRM-SCP) which enhances her ability to address complex employee relations issues effectively.
Femi is committed to leveraging this extensive experience to contribute to the strategic direction of the Canadian Institute of Workplace Harassment and Violence, working to develop best practices and resources that benefit workplaces across Canada. In addition to her professional work, Femi is actively involved in community service, further demonstrating her commitment to fostering safe and respectful workplaces.
