The Workplace Harassment (Bullying), and Violence Prevention and Intervention
Who We Are:
The Canadian Institute of Workplace Harassment and Violence is a not for profit organization that provides funds to adults seeking justice, restoration and recovery while dealing with workplace harassment and violence.
Raising Funds
Our fundraising gives us the opportunity to help adults in the workplace, impacted by bullying or harassment, seek the resources they need and deserve, including treatment and legal services.
Seeking Grants
We actively apply for applicable grants allowing us to help more people with "substantiated cases" find justice and peace.
Accepting Donations
Your donations and gifts help us assist employees who are dealing with psychological or physical injuries and losses in the workplace, many of whom are without benefits or funds for support and assistance.
Offering Information
We offer resources by way of links for you to find services anywhere in Canada. See External Resources to access these resources.
Ultimately, we want to prevent harm.
We have created this not for profit organization to help raise funds so that targeted employees can afford the services they need. Services every Canadian should have a right to access. Especially when their employer did not follow legislation and protect them from this harm. There is only one way to set this right. We must find funds to help people stand up for their rights.
The following will offer you examples of what donations will be used for. Do let us know if there is an area you prefer your donation to go to. Otherwise, it will go to a pool and be assessed case by case, by our board members for allocation. Each case is unique, and every applicant (targeted employee), will be making different decisions regarding their ‘next steps’. We want to meet these individuals where they are at and respect their decisions. After all, bullying takes a persons power away. CIWHV intentions are to help restore that power.
Their application for funding which will take place with a trained consultant (therapist), who will provide a summary of the individuals experiences and the steps taken to date. Depending on their needs, risks, resources, and capacity, we may for example, begin by funding one consultation with a specialized counsellor and or a lawyer. Those we will be collaborating with will offer a first session at a reduced fee. Following this first session with the goal of having a personalized strategy in place and assess further funding needs.
